A new report highlighted the significant increase in the disbursement of loans by fintech players in the third quarter of FY24. Despite regulatory challenges, fintech players managed to disburse Rs 35,999 crore, marking a 55% increase from the previous year. The report from Face also indicated a 13% growth in disbursing volume to 2.5 crore loans with an average ticket size of Rs 12,733. The data revealed positive financial trends, with over three-fourths of the members reporting profitability. Women accounted for 12% of the total loans disbursed, with a third of the workforce being women. However, the report also noted the lower participation of women in leadership roles.
