Scotland boasts 24% boom in fintech careers

Scotland’s fintech sector has experienced a 24% increase in employment since 2021, according to Fintech Scotland. The organization, which supports the sector, reports that fintech SMEs now employ over 10,500 people across 226 enterprises. Additionally, more than 38% of fintech enterprises in Scotland have reached the scale-up stage, creating further opportunities for employment. The country has also become a destination for international companies, with 38 fintechs including Scotland in their development plans.

The growth in employment demonstrates Scotland’s attractiveness to global fintech companies. Factors contributing to this attraction include Scotland’s talent pool, academic excellence, and the well-established strengths of its financial services sector.
