The MENA Fintech Association has announced the relaunch of its Payments working group, called SHIFT, with Akshay Chopra and Imane Adel as co-chairs. The association, which supports fintech startups and established players in the Middle East and Africa, aims to drive innovation and collaboration in the industry. Chopra is a fintech investor and managing partner at 237 Ventures, while Adel is EVP of Strategy at Paymob. They will work together to advance payment solutions and innovation in the MENA region, and the group plans to collaborate with regulators and policymakers to shape the future of finance. The inaugural planning lunch for the working group took place on January 11.
