Canadian small businesses are more satisfied with the financial services provided by credit unions than by the country’s largest banks, according to a survey by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. Credit unions were ranked highest overall, followed by Desjardins and National Bank. The survey asked small businesses to rate their financial institutions on a scale of zero to 10. Credit unions scored highest for “banking fees” and “account manager.” The report also highlighted concerns about high banking fees, difficulty contacting banks directly, and banks not meeting the unique needs of small businesses.
